What the evidence says
- Company claim
Husqvarna says the 430V and three sister models are its first robot mowers with built-in AI vision: the camera recognizes objects such as a football, a picnic blanket or a hedgehog and the mower responds by type, an infrared light lets it work at night, and images are processed in the mower and not stored or shared.

Husqvarna says the mower needs no boundary wire: work areas and no-go zones are drawn in its app, and positioning uses satellite correction data over Wi-Fi or mobile coverage, or an optional reference station where there is none. It is rated for lawns up to 4,800 square metres.

Trusted Reviews ran the mower on a lawn of nearly 1.5 acres (July 2026). Navigation was excellent and it steered neatly around obstacles and trees, but it treated twigs and large leaves as obstacles and left patches uncut, dropped a wheel into a flower bed a few times and needed rescuing, and needed its map adjusted.

TechPulse (April 2026) found the camera recognized balls, toys, a spade and a lid every time and steered carefully around them, and the mower stopped at once when someone stepped in front of it; it got stuck once on the back of a football goal.

PC-WELT (June 2026) found obstacle avoidance mostly reliable but less deft than some rivals, and after several weeks the mower kept nearly half a metre away from a garage wall it had earlier mowed up to.

Husqvarna says four other Automower models for the US (305V iQ, 310V iQ, 420V iQ and 440V iQ) received FCC Conditional Approval in September 2026 and are expected to launch there in 2027.

Owners set areas and schedules in the Automower Connect app, and a dealer can install it for a fee; neither Husqvarna nor the reviews describe remote staff helping the mower. Human involvement is left blank because none of the Index's options describes this.
