Eight Sleep Pod 6

What the evidence says

1. Company claim

Eight Sleep says Autopilot adjusts temperature and elevation in real time on each side of the bed, making dozens of small adjustments a night, and is fully personalized after seven nights.

2. Company claim

Eight Sleep says the cover detects snoring through vibrations and, with the separately sold Base, lifts the sleeper's head to reduce snoring by up to 45%. Without the Base, the cover only tracks snoring.

3. Company claim

Eight Sleep says the Pod 6 cover has 18 biometric sensors, nine times as many as Pod 5, and tracks heart rate, breathing rate, heart-rate variability, snoring and sleep stages without a wearable, and can tell two sleepers apart, or a sleeper from a pet or child.

4. Documented by company source

Every Pod 6 requires an Autopilot membership, with a 12-month commitment. After cancelling, the Pod still works with manual temperature control on each side, but scheduling, automatic adjustments, sleep reports and snoring tools stop.

5. Company claim

The only study found is a 2024 Bioengineering paper written mostly by Eight Sleep employees and funded by the company. On an earlier Pod, with temperatures set by the users rather than Autopilot, 54 adults' minimum sleeping heart rate fell by about 1.2 beats a minute and heart-rate variability rose by about 2 ms over a week. It does not test Autopilot or Pod 6.
